www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5aodBfdFTAThis is perhaps one of the most controversial and sensitive topics ever talked about, some people believe the death penalty is hypocritical, while others believe it is justice to serve retribution to the offender (you hurt me so now I have the right to hurt you). However one argument of the death penalty that cannot be refuted is the possibility of mistakes even with forensics available to us. Does the death penalty have a place in a civilized society? as the topic in the video describes, if you're against retribution you're also against the following; killing, torturing, outcasting etc. And so eye for an eye may be wrong, no matter what someone has done and you may be one of the people who believed even the Nazis or serial killers have rights, but dangerous people still need to be separated.

I think the death penalty if allowed at all should only be a last resort after every rehabilitation attempt has failed. I haven't watched the video yet but I might get a chance to at the library tomorrow.

Good point but even then it doesn't have to be torture, lethal injection is enough, that is the way dangerous or terminally ill animals are put out of their misery.

Capital punishment, also known as the death penalty, is a government sanctioned practice whereby a person is put to death by the state as a punishment for a crime.
