www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8FGCfYdTrcwww.polygon.com/2014/9/12/6141515/do-violent-video-games-actually-reduce-real-world-crimeThis may not apply to everyone, however there have been studies suggesting that video game violence or other fictional depictions of violence minus the Bible and the Quran, actually have been said to reduce violent offending, I don't know where they get these statistics from but these seriously should be looked at. To me it does make sense because think if you are stressed out for whatever reason, then since free will is an illusion you will need a form of escapism or some time alone to relieve that stress so you don't angrily snap at other people. Nintendo E rated games may even have a similar effect on a persons psyche, bronies claim that My Little Pony teaches love and tolerance, I believe the VA of a character in it Tara Strong spoke on this subject before. Whatever your beliefs, the fact is entertainment is part of our culture and will probably remain so for many thousands of years to the rest of time. I'm not saying governments should be wasting billions of taxpayers money giving prisoners a ton of luxuries just to calm them down, however I do believe this is an important thing to be looking into, to see how true this assumption really is.

Some of the studies I've seen show that violent video games tend to increase levels of aggression in those who are already predisposed towards aggression. That's why allowing violent criminals in jail to play violent videos may just makes thing worse and jeopardize the safety of both prison staff and nonviolent prisoners.

I agree with laffx, but such studies isn't only for video games, but books as well.
