Back when I believed in free will, I thought that change required me to have free will to make a change. As it turns out, determinism is really the key to understanding what caused painful events in the past and preventing those causes is the only way I can see that makes a better future. Chandler, how is it that academics who have been studying this issue for many years don't get that!!!? We've got to figure out a way to bring them to their senses!

I could blame myself for buying into this free will rubbish for so many years or remain depressed for every mistake I ever made.

Unless something kills us before we can, I am determined that we will find a way. If I could actually sit down and talk with a person long enough, I am sure I could explain it until they got it.

You can't blame yourself for believing rubbish that most of the world has been indoctrinating you with. It took me 27 years before I finally had enough events that forced me to read everything I could on the subject of free will.

Well that is why I told George in a message one time on Facebook that I wont debate this anymore, I can't argue against scientific facts and I do not wish to be an imbecile. There are mountains of evidence that refute free will, addiction, sexual orientations, phobias, eating habits etc.

The evidence against free will is so great and so easy to point out that I am not on the determinism side of the debate. It is a subject that I feel I would be prepared to debate with someone in real time.
